Eight years ago we added a Sporting Clay shoot at Prairie Creek to our list of fundraisers. Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors and the teams that participate we have awarded at least 6 additional $1200 scholarships each  year.

 Each January top teams representing Area Go Texan counties and Houston Metro Go Texan areas compete in the Houston Live-stock show and Rodeo Go Texan Contests including ranch sorting, washer pitching, dominoes and horseshoe pitching at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy,  Texas.

 For more than 25 years the Gregg County Area Go Texans have represented Gregg County at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Championship BBQ Cook-off at NRG Park in Houston, TX. With more than 900 teams competing the competition is tough.
